"Personal statement"? Is this a med school application?

I'm pleased to be introduced to 'flugpo' early enough that my display name can simply be "Michael."

My life aims are pretty simple: understand human nature, understand the human condition, and alleviate suffering. Looking good and having fun in the process are nice frills.

I'm studying to be an anesthesiologist because I want to understand pain and eliminate unnecessary hurting. And because getting paid to give people mind-altering chemicals is a pleasure that shouldn't be monopolized by street thugs and Columbian guerrillas.

I love God and want people to feel Him love them through me. I might wear it on my sleeve sometimes, but I could be accused of worse things.
